📐 How to Choose the Correct Toilet Trap Option
Before selecting your trap option, measure the set-out distance (rough-in) — the distance from the finished wall to the centre of the floor waste outlet. For P-Trap, check whether your waste pipe exits through the wall.
Tip: Measure from the tiled wall surface (not the skirting board) to the centre of the pipe.
S-Trap: 90–160mm Rough-In
Suitable for: Floor waste outlet with set-out between 90mm and 160mm from the finished wall
S-Trap: 160–230mm Rough-In
Suitable for: Floor waste outlet with set-out between 160mm and 230mm from the finished wall
P-Trap: 180mm
Suitable for: Waste pipe exiting through the wall at a fixed 180mm set-out
