Metlam Accessible Folding Shower Seat – Compact Laminate
The Metlam ML994 is a wall-mounted folding shower seat designed for accessible and aged care bathrooms. Built to AS 1428.1:2021 standards, it combines a #304 satin stainless steel frame with a 13mm designer black compact laminate seat — delivering structural reliability, hygiene and a clean contemporary finish. When not in use, it folds flat with just 55mm projection, keeping the shower space open and unobstructed.
AS 1428.1:2021 Certified – 200kg Rated
The ML994 is constructed to meet AS 1428.1:2021 force requirements, withstanding 1100Nm of applied force. When correctly installed, the seat is rated to support 200kg — providing the structural confidence required in disability, aged care and accessible bathroom environments.
This compliance rating makes it suitable for both residential accessible bathrooms and commercial or healthcare installations where certification is a specification requirement.
#304 Stainless Steel Frame & Compact Laminate Seat
The frame is fabricated from #304 grade satin stainless steel with a 25mm² tube profile — chosen for its corrosion resistance and long-term durability in wet shower environments. It provides a stable, rigid support structure without adding unnecessary visual bulk.
The 13mm compact laminate seat is a single-piece construction in designer black, offering a hygienic, non-porous surface that is easy to clean and resistant to moisture, impact and everyday wear.
3 Bevelled Slots for Self-Draining
The seat surface features three bevelled drainage slots that allow water to run off freely during and after use. This prevents pooling on the seat surface, reducing slip risk and keeping the seat hygienic between uses.
The self-draining design also means the seat dries quickly, minimising the conditions that promote mould or bacterial growth — an important consideration in shared or high-use accessible bathrooms.
Low-Profile Folding – Only 55mm Projection
When folded up against the wall, the seat projects just 55mm from the surface — one of the most compact profiles available in this category. This makes it well suited to smaller accessible showers where clearance and maneuverability are critical.
The low-profile upright storage position also reduces the risk of the seat being caught or bumped during entry and exit, contributing to a safer overall shower environment.

03 Order processing & delays
- You'll receive an Order Confirmation Email as soon as your order has been successfully placed.
- Please allow 0–3 business days for order processing. In most cases, in-stock orders are dispatched within the first 24 hours.
- Once your order has been dispatched, we'll email you the tracking information.
Some delays may occur due to circumstances outside our control:
- Public holidays, peak trading periods and major sale events may extend processing and delivery times. During Christmas and major sale periods, please allow extra time.
- Exceptionally high order volumes may occasionally extend processing times.
04 Additional delivery charges
Additional charges beyond the standard delivery fee may apply where:
- Stair or lift access is required — for example, where the delivery point is not directly accessible or goods need to be carried up stairs. Additional charges may apply due to the extra labour and time required.
- The delivery location is difficult to access, or two or more people are required to complete the delivery safely.
05 Missed deliveries
- If nobody is available at the delivery address during the agreed delivery window, a redelivery fee may apply.
- Any additional charge will be communicated to you and agreed before a second delivery attempt is arranged.
- Please ensure that you or an authorised person is available at the delivery address during the agreed delivery window.
06 Pickup
- We'll prepare your order as soon as possible and email you a notification with your booking number and collection details once it is ready.
- Please wait until you receive this confirmation email before coming to collect your order.

07 Out-of-stock & backordered items
Stock levels can change quickly, and occasionally an item may show as available but sell out shortly after your order is placed. If this happens, we'll email you and provide the following three options:
- Cancel backordered items We'll remove the unavailable items and dispatch the remaining in-stock items as soon as possible.
- Cancel the whole order Choose immediate store credit or a refund.
