Bath Tapwares - vintage

A good bath tap depends on your bath style and how you use it. Floor-mounted mixers suit freestanding tubs, while wall mixers or wall mixer-and-spout sets work well for built-in or back-to-wall baths. Look for durable brass or stainless steel, ceramic cartridges, and the finish that matches your bathroom.

In Australia, replacing a bath tap is usually treated as plumbing work, so the safest and generally compliant way is to use a licensed plumber. The process typically involves shutting off water, removing the old fitting, checking compatibility, and installing the new tapware to local standards.

Yes, they are different. Bath taps usually need higher flow to fill a tub efficiently, while sink taps are designed for basin use and may include aerators or lower-flow settings. Some wall-mounted sets can work for both, but it is usually best to choose tapware made for the intended fixture.

Start with your bath type: freestanding baths often pair with floor-mounted mixers, while built-in baths suit wall mixers, spouts, or tap sets. When selecting Bath Tapwares, also check the material, finish, water rating, installation method, and spout reach. Matching your tapware to your bath layout matters as much as matching the style.
